Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. After her graduation, she was a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes named her as the most influential female in the media industry in 2009. Her ranking was in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her on the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the President of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Though she was close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her life. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. At the age of 16, she returned to the UK for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the first woman to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. She worked as a critic television host, and a columnist after her graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's aid.
