Seasons 1-8 see shippers making bids for two shipments listed on the uShip website. It is a reverse auction structure. Bids are typically accompanied by remarks about the potential risks and costs and their motives and skills. If the time limit has expired for an auction it will be given to the bidder with the lowest bid. At the client's discretion, however it could be awarded to a bidder with more positive feedback ratings than past clients. For the lowest bid there will be a tie dissolved by the feedback rating. In season 9, shippers get their cargo via a shipping broker. They aren't aware of the bidding process. Instead, the winners load the cargo and attempt to deliver it on time before the deadline of the client or receiver. After the load is delivered, customers leave feedback ratings. The episode ends with each shipper's earnings and expenses. The amount of the bid is subtracted to determine the total profit and loss. Sometimes, shippers will offer to transport additional loads on the same journey. The extra money is then added into the total. Sometimes, the shipper may not be able to finish an assignment due to worries about the weight/size of the load as well as road safety. Sometimes, a shipper might contract the help of a different shipper to complete a job. The shippers then decide what they'll do with the profits. The advancement of each shipment is interrupted by humorous criticisms from other shippers in seasons 1-8.
